Originally
from Japan, Yuko Kamimoto came to Singapore in 1997 and is
now a permanent resident. Yuko received training in piano
at a very young age. In 1989, she graduated from the Musashino
Academia Musicae, Tokyo, Japan as one of the top candidates
from a class of over 1,000 students each year and was awarded
the Naaki Fukui Memorial Scholarship. She then furthered her
studies at the School of the Arts, Boston University, Massachusetts,
USA and received Master of Music in Collaborative Piano. Between
1995 and 1996, she was the staff pianist at the Boston University
and has gained rich experience in accompanying voice and instrument
recitals. Since 1997, Yuko has been the lecturer/tutor (part-time)
at the Division of Music, School of Arts, National Institute
of Education, Nanyang TechnologicaI University, Singapore.
